I'm in the country right now, around Mansonville QC, and there are quite a few black flies around, which is unusual in the Eastern Townships, so close to the US border. I wanted to putz around my computer and catch up on RSS outside, so I kinda had to make up some form of fly deterrent which ended being quite effective. Here's the gist of it: A steel casserole atop a ceramic plate, some mesquite wood chips (used for barbecuing, about 1 cup), a couple of ounces of Citrolite drizzled of the chips... and voilĂ ! The perfect computer-side fire. And the flies a are history...
